As always on a Tallent tune, the music is superb. The vocals are a little too chant like for my taste

–– tuneful play on the thoughts of an omnipotent god, and whilst the verse progression seems promising in its back and forth dipping of the melody, the chorus seems almost as intangible as the holy spirit, and really leaves the song as something quite forgettable - 6

You got a great beat going here as you do in all of your songs. The beat holds your songs together. I can feel your energy and heartbeat. I like the vocals and the lyrics very much. Inspirational songs demand very much. It is important to get your point across and let the listener feel it. Well you did in this song, you "Let your Little light shine" so to speak.. You shine!!

comments: Guitar is slightly out of tune…fix that. Vocals…too plain…you need a lot more vocal "character" in them. Melody needs a little variance. Add some harmony in the chorus to make it more different from the verse.

The tune stayed with me. I would give it a little fastertempo and add some dynamics. Verses had great words

I wish I could remember who this song reminds me of. Definitely somebody who was soaring high on drugs anyway… I find it hard to get a handle on this song; none of the elements in the instrumentation seem to belong with each other – the drums are especially incongruous. The somewhat dreary melody/singing just doesn’t suit the uplifting sentiment of the lyrics. Having said that it all finally gels more successfully in the last minute, at about the point where the guitar solo bit comes in and I like the feel here – if you could re-scope the song around this part you could be onto something, I reckon.

As always, David gets high marks for production. Like the arrangement of the song overall, and the message conveyed, but the lyric plods on a bit and the song runs long. Doesn’t contain the energy of some of his other material. Also of note, a reoccurring drum fill seems to break the flow of the song, as well.

The mood that the song creates is fine. Bass, acoustic guitar and drums go along quite well. I would cut on the constant drum breaks, especially since they are identical (a simple drum programming issue, I guess). Each instrument in particular sounds too simplistic. Some instrumental break might fit nicely. The vocal seems a little weak and out of tune in couple places. More singing and less saying will make it a better recording. The voice may be very interesting once it becomes used in full, it's too soft on this one. Your voice has some uniqueness to it, and that may very well be the reason why you haven't been compared to anyone on this forum yet.

Well, every time I hear songs so similar lyrically to some classics like "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison, I ask myself a question: shouldn’t one song be enough? Perhaps not. As a non-religious person I can’t be helpful criticizing the lyrics here – part of the reason why I wasn’t impressed by them in any way.

Drums overwhelming for the kind of a song it is..no big musical changes...when the chorus is sung softly it's nice...runs pretty long.

After the expressive drum-intro, I expected more than just a two-chord structure for verse and chorus.
The arrangement causes me to think about a rock song but the musically structure reminds me to some
children's songs. So I'm confused about the song.

I've heard this one before. I really like the lyric although the way
the vocal is presentded some how seems to lack passion, which I doubt is the case, I think the rhythm guitar contributes to this feel of
the song. It could do to be sped up abit and played in a higher key
and this would make it better.

Percussion sounds a little off in places.
Vocals too soft -- could be stronger. Liked
ending -- more powerful than rest of song.
Rest of song should have this same feel.

David is so talented (just like his name) in the aspects of production! The love and care he shows for his music is tremendous and I can't say enough about how gifted he is. The voice is a little flat though, and I don't like this song as much as others of his that I've heard in the past
