I know you're not finished with this, but I really like it. Keep the acoustic sound please...great lyrics |

pretty basic arrangement, and simple type of song, yet sounds great, i really love that first bridge (we pay no mind to the times left behind, because everyone has a skeleton, but now the closets are closed and were both feeling fine, for we have each found a companion through time), lovely modern type of rambling americana/folk song, maybe rambles too much but still good |

Nice song with strong guitar work. Vocals at first bothered me in a way that's hard to explain. It's like the singer was trying to build a style or rhythm that didn't quite come together. This cleared up considerably after the first verse. |

Okay right away I was drawn to this song because of the title. I love oceans too. I write about them also. I was hooked before I even listened. This song by far is my favorite. It is Heart Music and it touched mine. Great guitar sound and the vocals were great. Do you like Todd Rundgren? The mood of this song reminded me of his sound. Thank you for the heart music "fix"...I needed one. |

Critique: This has the makings of a good song. I would like to hear this when you have it totally finished. The voice reminded me of little of Bob Dylan. |

Yummy guitar stuff – like it a lot. Find it hard to make out the words you’re singing though. Like the change in feel of the backing about halfway through. But both melodically and dynamically it lacks highs and lows – no real journey. Result is slightly hollow; which doesn’t gel well with the sentiment/lyrics. Speaking of lyrics, I do like what you’ve put together here, but I think they would benefit from a more engaging melodic vehicle to ride on. |

Todd is a complete wanker with no pop sensibility. Kick him off the forum |

Not one of my favorites of Todd, and perhaps not among the best ones of his either. I really like the chorus of the song – the chord progression is great - these seem to be the exact intervals I usually choose. I like Todd’s voice - perfect timbre for my taste. On the other hand, it sounds too "cool", pretentious at times, just like mine does. Maybe we should clear our throats a little and see what happens. The song might be a bit too long. Lyrics are the strongest side of this song, complex enough, poetic, yet moody. Some phrases are not clear, the transitions and logical connections need improvement: "We pay no mind to the times left behind / Because everyone has a skeleton"… The listener no time to think about such a cumbersome statement in a song… Mystification is great, but when a phrase can be easily demystified: "But she is my ocean, she is my sea A fisherman out in a small boat I be"… Perhaps the best metaphor so far, though I’ve heard/read something similar somewhere before. Doesn’t count if I can’t remember where exactly, I guess. Overall, very impressive. |

Like the verses alot...music pretty straightforward..no surprises...bridge needs to be more different than the verses...lyrics too abstract for me. |

I guess the song structure needs to be worked out clearer. I got lost in waiting for a |

This song had a convincing edge that draws you to the song that is missing from most entries. A simple song, I think the quick production suits the songs and contributes to its value. No real poppy hooks just a good quality song |

Love the guitar work. Love the dreamy lyrics and chord changes. THe only problem is there's a "canny" sound to the vocals. Very good |
