Troubles
by Alicia Keys
Melina S: It's funny that you performed this song a capella, because before I made a final selection for the contest I entertained thoughts of doing the same thing. I instead found the prospect of doing that a little intimidating, but you did not. I give you a lot of credit for your entry. About the only thing I could offer is that I found myself trying to figure out some of the vocals because thay may have been recorded a little softly. But hey, like you said it was a demo you threw together. Good job.

In My Room
by Brian Wilson

Nancy G: I have always been a huge fan of the 12 string guitar and I enjoyed the way you played it in your selection. In fact when I heard you perform I went back in my mind to a little coffeehouse in college I use to perform at. There was one woman who used it exclusively and I always hung around to listen to her set. Very nice song. It's obvious you enjoy playing it.
03-Markus
Lullaby
by Tom Waits
Markus:

I loved the piano arrangement you came up with to perform this song. I know Tom Waits, but have never heard this song. Did you say it was originally done with guitar? Well I loved your version. Soothing and very dark at the same time....as Tom Waits normally is. Great song. Thanks for sharing it with us. This time "the piano was not drinking."

04-James
I Can't Get Next to You
By the Temptations
James: After listening to entries like your, I realize how much I have to learn when it comes to playing guitar. Your smokin' on this tune. You quite obviously have a lot of skill when it comes to mixing, because this little number sounded as though it was done in a studio...and perhaps indeed it was. Still I have to think most of us are jamming away in our homes...and if that's where you made this little number....I'm in awe of your expertise.
05-Iggy
Dreamer
by Ozzie Osbourne
Iggy:
First song I ever sang in a band was "Snow Blind" by Sabbath so I have a warm spot in my heart for Ozzy. I've never heard this song but you sure made me want to. Piano playing was great! Was that an old upright? Plus on your vocal did you double track it with a very slight delay? I like your performance very much! Congrats.
06-Solpig
Buona Sera
by Louis Prima
Solpig:

I love your voice. So gruff... I only wish the song had been longer because simply..I wanted to hear more. That's not a cut, rather a pat on the back my friend. I like your style and would like to hear some of your own stuff. I bet it has a lot of soul and blues mixed in it. Time to search the web with keyword..."solpig"

08-Tim W
Nowhere Man
by The Beatles
Tim: I wish your recording had been just a bit cleaner because you guys sounded great on those harmonies, though a bit muffled. Guitar sounded exact to the real deal. I especially liked the lead. Making acoustic leads clean, at least for me, is always a chore. Like everyone else has commented on...you guys had fun. That's what music is all about!
09-Nigel
Happier Than the Morning Sun
by Stevie Wonder
Nigel: It's taken me so long to write this review because quite simply I'm very jealous of your voice and the way you use it. It's terrific. You must have a lot of practice singing songs with an r&b, blues, soul edge. Anyway...I thought the piece was very good. Keep on making music.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn
by Poison
My ears tell me you've got a banjo??? accordian and guitar working at the same time. At least I think I hear a banjo. Nice. But I noticed that you had a hard time singing this selection in certain sections. The reasons for that could be many, and I myself am far from perfect. Just keep playing and having fun....that's really all that matters.
11-David T
Day Tripper
by John lennon & Paul McCartney
Loved the drums on this David-T,the tambourine, the bass line, guitars, everything...except....the moog keyboard. It didn't work. No, not one little bit. Ax that track and SING my friend. You got this one down...except of course for the synth.
12-Dave C
Autumn Leaves
by Joseph Kosma & Jacques Prévert
Listening to this at home...the face of Cary Grant pops into my mind. Why I can't tell you. OH NOW I KNOW. Because this song reminds me of old Hitchcock flicks. Call me crazy, but it does. I had a friend who played jazz guitar and he jammed this one all the time. An ageless classic and you played it a bit slow, but well. Thanks

Just A Little
by The Beau Brummels
When I heard this song I too had a hard time telling it from the real thing. It also took me back to a time in my life when you could still hear a local radio station back in my hometown of Milwaukee, playing "Court of the Crimson King".....ah, those were the days. At least as I remember them being in the early teens. Great cover, filled with all, and I mean all, the sounds of the early British invasion.
14-Todd
Joker
by Steve Miller
Todd: I loved the way you made this song your own with that intro that slowly built up to the second verse. I never expected that. I thought it was very artistic the way you changed up the chorus, cutting out much of the music and scaling back to just the acoustic and shakers. That was a surprise. Are those drums real or loops? Sounds live. Needless to say I enjoyed the tune a lot. If you really want to collaborate...send me an email.
15-Meikow
You Won't See Me
by The Beatles
I really liked the guitar riff's, with that dreamy effect to make it sound straight out of India. The name of the instrument I'm thinking of eludes me right now. The mix was very good. The only thing that hit me on the negative side was it seemed as though your voice strayed out of key once or twice, but hey, we all threw these things together in a few days.
16-Hazelglow
Dreams of Fast Cars
by an amalgam of Tracy Chapman & Gabrielle
Haze: Liked the blending of the two songs. While I'm familiar with Tracy Chapman I have no idea who Gabrielle is. Still the entry was performed well and had me smiling. Thanks for the tune.
