Good playing, great vox, always neat to here a cover by somebody with
a different slant than the original. |
| Kneena | Wonderful! Your vocals and playing are great. Every part of this song was filled by you. You did a terrific job and I really enjoyed hearing this song. Very Nice! |
| Iggy | Nigel: Happier; Nigel, you put a smile on my
face as soon as I heard this song. What a great performance! You've got
a fantastic voice that really makes this song. Guitar playing wasn't too
shabby, ether. I especially liked the pauses and the dropping down on
the chords.
Just plain excellent. No complaints from me, Sir. Nice job |
| Christina | How very nice and sweet! A super performance, Nigel! Simple, neat, accompaniment that doesn't cover up your voice. Good choice. |
| David T | Good guitar and great voice. Great expressive guitar in the choruses. A most enjoyable song. Seems to fit well within the vocalist's range. |
| Tim W | Nigel Beautiful song; beautiful rendition. Smooth and harmonic guitar work. You have a great voice. I liked the production. |
| Nancy G | Nigel, I like your name. :-) First
of all, I love Stevie Wonder. I haven't listened to his music lately so
this song really blessed me. You have such a tender touch with this song.
Your voice is excellent. The guitar playing is great. I'd like to pick
guitars with you some time..maybe when we start up the JLSC Band! lol. Stevie Wonder has always had a golden touch with his music. You took me there folk style the way I like it. I was even singing harmonies with you as I listened. Thanks for sharing your sound with me... |
| Todd | Stevie Wonder acoustic... who would have thunk it? This was a great idea, and shows what a great song that this is. I loved your guitar playing, and your voice has a lot of soul. Just curious, but did you track both at the same time? Sounds like it, and if that's the case, you must put on a pretty good show! |
| James | Outstanding! I'd write more but I don't want you to get a big head! |
| Markus | Hey, you're a great singer with a beautiful voice! Your arrangement of that song is excellent. The less instruments one uses the more he has to know about the different possibilities to use them. And the way you used your guitar I liked very much. Sometimes strumming, sometimes picking... Great Job on a beautiful song! |
| Nigel | Ehhhh, I've heard better.... |
| Emily (EED) | First of all, how is there a Stevie WOnder song that I have never heard? I would have had a hard time imagining any of his songs translating well to an acoustic guitar arrangement, but you NAILED this. This is fabulous. You have a beautiful voice and the guitar work is just as good. I'm really at a loss for what to say about it. I have no criticism. I'm on my third listen and made my husband come hear. If you had this on an album I would gladly lay down my $15 ($17?). |
| Kris S | Nigel:
It's taken me so long to write this review because quite simply I'm very jealous of your voice and the way you use it. It's terrific. You must have a lot of practice singing songs with an r&b, blues, soul edge. Anyway...I thought the piece was very good. Keep on making music. |

Nigel, I am quite familiar with most of Stevie Wonders tunz. I have an older blind brother who taught me what music was...so I relate to people like Stevie. I closed my eyes when I listened to this one...as my brother taught me to do. I was taken away. A wonderful job. Thanks for letting me "see" again what he taught me. |

Nigel this song is great! Great smooth vocals out front. Very stylishly played. You are good! |
| Dave C | I did not get an opportunity to compare this version to the original so I do not know if it is reasonably faithful to the original or an interpretation (I am assuming the former). Its a very pretty song. Your vocals and guitar playing are both very strong and the low fi stream was very clean. I liked it a lot. |
| Hazelglow | Very nice silky, shimmery voice was my first thought. Good musicality; meshes well with the guitar part. However, and I'm not sure why exactly, can't put my finger on what the quality is; but for such a happy song you (assuming it's you singing) sound really quite sad and wistful. The guitar arrangement is also similarly melancholy and pensive, so the whole thing ends up somewhat mismatched to the vibe of the actual song you've chosen. I don't know the original, but I imagine it sounds a lot more upbeat and happily infectious. I think I'd really like to hear you sing a song with a more down-trodden vibe, probably you'd pull that off really well. But anyhoo, your arrangement is very nicely put together and performed. |
