Christina Wow, David! The consumate one-man band at work! Too bad you can't clone yourself! To my deaf ear, this is right on! Maybe a slightly different instrument choice for the keyboard setting might have sounded a bit clearer. Good job, David!
EED (Emily) Give me a tamobourine any day of the week! I love that jingle jangle! I wasn't crazy about the synth choice, but the song, on the whole is fantastic. All instruments sound great; very well put together...excellent job!
Iggy My first thought was this guy took the original stereo recording of "Day Tripper" panned everything to the left, cutting out the vocals and then replaced them with his keyboard. The rhythm and feel of the performance was that good, almost identical to the original.

As always, Dave nails the percussion along with the actual production. I felt, however, the keyboard, although played very well, lessened the overall sound and impact of the song, making it more of a MIDI produced style song.

Extra points for choosing a Beatle's song, extra points for production and percussion. Five points off for the synth sound.

Nigel I'm dissapointed, David. I wanted to hear you sing! Anyway, love the drums and guitar. They both sound excellent. Nice guitar tones - very Beatleesque. Thought the keyboard sound was a little hot in the mix, or maybe just too midrangey - it drowned out the rest of the mix. Other than that, I enjoyed it.
Kneena Sounds Great! I too would have liked to have heard your voice. You did a wonderful job with this song! Your playing and combining the different sounds were terrific! The beginning of the song had a nice intro and the rest just followed. I enjoyed this alot! Great job!

Dude! You ROCK! What else can I say? The percussion especially blew me away. It was like you had Ringo on the ol' drum kit. And the instrumentation in the middle (where you play a "B" chord for, like, 4 measures as the song hits the crescendo) was AWESOME! Just like DA Beatles!
But David, David, David: like the rest I have to say LOSE THE KEYBOARD. I mean really... Don't you think that hummer's just screaming out for a little screaming Strat work? I'd love to hear a re-do sans keyboard, with a screaming stratocaster overlay for the lead vocal.
Nancy G Very cool arrangement Mr Tallent. I love the beat you put into all of your songs. You got the beat, baby! This is a great cruising song. I like the aspects of this song as an
intrumental. I dreamed I was at a psychedelic skating rink and I was skating to your song...crazy me. Could you hear me singing along? This song would be a great soundtrack for a dance routine or a musical. David, for sure you are a
"Day Tripper"..thanks, I loved this song!
Todd Slick production. I wasn't expecting the synth instead of a vocal. The bass is solid, drums sound good, and you obviously are a very good musician. I'm such a fan of vocals, though... Maybe McCartney has an opening available in his band, eh?
James Very nice rendition. Love the guitar work. I especially like the panning in the mix. Good job!
Meikow Great tune David, right on with everything...except the moog!..I was singin along with Nancy...nice duet !!!
Hazelglow OK, a fun track to listen to! And while I don't know the song particularly (yes I am that ignorant!), obviously the main riff is familiar. Some very cool guitar work going on here too; loved the solo. The synth however, hmm...I dunno... To somebody who doesn't know how the melody is supposed to go, it sounded a bit random/meandering to me. I wonder with covers, should they hold up on their own or is it reasonable to expect that the listener should already be well familiar with the original? Methinks the former. Actually I wanted to hear more; this track was a bit short and to me it sounded like you were just getting going!
Kris S Loved the drums on this David-T,the tambourine, the bass line, guitars, everything...except....the moog keyboard. It didn't work. No, not one little bit. Ax that track and SING my friend. You got this one down...except of course for the synth.
Dave C Day Tripper was the 2nd Rock and Roll song I learned as a youngster (actually, maybe the 3rd if you consider the intro for Mississippi Queen a song). Ill have to go with the other reviewers on this one; I didnt think the choice of tone for the melody instrument was a good fit within a faithful reproduction of the song. I had a lot of trouble with the low-fi stream on this one (buzzing etc.). Did you use 16th notes or 16th note triplets on the intro drum roll? I couldnt hear them.
Solpig You and Dave C. should start a band..."the non-singing Daves"I KNOW you can sing cuz I went to your web page.If you come to L.A. were gonna hang out and I'm gonna make you sing! The best way to never have lead singer problems is to be him!
I really liked that distorted descending thang at the start, but it never came back.I know you do dance mixes ,and those things are always cool, but MILK that baby for all she's worth.
My 10 year old son just walked in while i was listening to you. He's a beatles fan and he said "wow..that was cool"
I thought you came so close to reproducing the fundamentals exactly(bass, drums,Rhythm guitar) that the organ was a bit garish on top.Use the distorted thing,or something less succinct.
You know your one of my favorite dudes, that's why I have to take you to task a little harder than the others.
totally pro.......really cool....keep pushing harder!!!

Markus Very close to the original but though different. First I missed the singing. But after hearing your version several times, I felt that the special thing on it is your
synth-voice. Really a well done recover o the original version. I loved the fresh sounding drums (specially the
tambourine). Great job!
Hoaby Hey David! I have been a fan of the Beatles since their 1st album...it turned my youth around ...so to speak, and you did a great job on this one! It sounds like you have recording down to a tee! I have played this song in numerous bands, and it never wears out in me. Great job!
