Really, really good song. I've heard Iggy's style on a lot of stuff, but this was a new turn and probably the best because it was so personal. I think you could sell this to a number of artists; on the other hand I don't think you probably would; I don't think I'd sell a song I wrote for my wife, especially if it were as good as this. |

| 03-Brian | A nice song. It has an almost lullabye quality to it that is well matched to the sentiment of the song. It reminds me a lot of mid `60's Manfred Mann or Small Faces. It could just be the low bitrate but the production seems to have a very "at home" kind of sound & the vocal levels seemed to fluctuate some but still a well crafted pop ballad. | |
| 06-Bobbio | Build well....structure is good...a little
clumsy coming out of the string break...good length...vocal needs less
effect (chorus?)....it kinda runs together with the synth.. Nice simple lyrics....understandable...nothing abstract about it...I like that. |

| 02-Nancy G. Firefly | I enjoyed listening. The voice
and the keyboards really stand out in the tune. I like it because you
said this was a song for your wife! Hey, we are talking Valentines Day.
For the record, Valentines Days has really sucked for me the last 10 years.
Can your song make me feel good about love? Can your song make me feel
better deep inside my heart and soul? I am a listener, not a judge.
I dig the Beatles influence in this song. Your lyrics are balanced. It is almost too pretty for me but your mood and your sound pulls me into this tune. "Imagine" by Lennon, thats what the keyboards remind me of. This is a great song. Thank you for sharing the sounds of your heart through this song. |

| 90-Emily | Sweet, simple, Valentiney lyrics!
Pros: Great vocals and pianos. Cool beatlesque sound. Perfect entry for this contest. Cons: I know you were building up the sound there at the end, but there was something distracting about the synth doubling the melody--too much of the same thing going on. Good stuff, Iggy |

| 07-Jens | A little charming melody, that made me want
to play it on my keyboard. And I did. I found the song a little better if some of the D-chords were followed by D-minor chords and some chords had a 7.th added... It has a little taste of Beatles/Lennon/Real Love...?! The title is fine, and it ties the song well together by appearing in the verses and not in the chorus as usual. I think the extra bar between the verse and the chorus works fine here. It feels extra long here as the melody in the chorus starts "inside" the first bar. But I miss a drumfill here in this gap, and I miss some better drums on the recording. I imagine a big "boom" with reverb/echo on beat 3 would do well in the chorus. I am not so happy about the strings following the vocal melody at the end. It would be nice if it after a few bars jumped out in a countermelody. I would also like the singing of the "It's OK"'s in the ending were varied in different notes and they continued to the very end. But that is all minor things. Knowing that the song is for Iggy's wife makes it very honest and sincere. The listening suffers a little from the lofi-version - I look forward to hear an improved version in hi-fi! I think this song has a very good potential!! |

| 01-Markus | Good and solid song. Very streight
forward. I really love the verse's theme. It is really strong in both,
melody and harmonies. For me, the refrain couldn't hold exactly what the
verse was promissing. Maybe you could have left out one bar between verse
and refrain. But that's just what I think...
Thanks for sharing your heart lyrics with us! |

| 11-Dave C | Personal lyrics, which feel soulful with your vocal. It sounds like you are singing at the absolute top of your range in a few places that at least to my ears adds to the Lennonish - Beatlesque sound. Strings are a nice touch but I'd love to hear this as a full-blown production with drums and guitar (rhythm, licks and solo). | |
| 08-Kris S | The song really does have a heartfelt feeling, right in line for this contest of course. It feels a lot like a lullaby...one I picture Ozzy putting out. I realize we all have our own preference when it comes to effects, but I personally would have liked a bit less of whatever effect was used on the vocals. Straight forward...simple..and pleasant to listen to. | |
| 09-Peter M | I liked the music very much. Production
is significantly glossier than I tend to fancy, but I understand what
you were going for. Very clean and professional pop ethics to the production.
Keeping the melody nice and simply gave the song a lullaby-ish mood, and
the piano complimented that well. Varying the piano arpeggio in the later
verses could have added a greater sense of "movement" to the
song.
I detect a strong solo-Lennon influence here...that forebeat music hall sound. "Grow Old Along With Me" and "Real Love", two songs I really like, sprang to mind. I didn't like the lyrics much. I know we're supposed to be in sappy love song territory, but this lyric is just a patchwork of cliches. A full storyline isn't necessary, but I wanted some progression of action or a conflict or something. Basically: if he's holding her "once again" -meaning he's held her before- why does she need reassurance that "it's OK". Why wouldn't it be OK? I was left wondering what was going on in this song. That said, I thought the phrasing of the lyrics matched the melody perfectly. This was well done. I just wish the song said something new. Musically very strong, your good influences shine through. |

lyrics-9 performance-9. Is Iggy really Ozzy??Beatles meets ozzy love song.Great turns and sweeps,Simple and concise lyrics, the way all great songs should be. We all know you're a great musician, but I feel as if you're being "careful" when you sing.If you sang as confidently as you played keys I would have given you tens in everything. pig |
