Nice, simple, easygoing lyrics make this song. They fit the song. Nancys performance helps as well! The song reminded of CSN, but Im not sure why. As always, Nancys vocals are right there with that little touch of attitude.

Needs Improvement:
The song is crying for a bridge or a surprise. The verses and chorus merge and was difficult to find where one started and the other left off.

Summary:
Great sounding song that probably is better suited for live venues.

Vocal a little too hot....lyrics fit perfectly with theme..."simple" makes sense for this song...kinda has a Jefferson Airplane feel to it......the chorus is clearly the best part, even though it's not unlike the verses...it's effective.

Heard this one before, but great to hear it again. This is a very "real" recording, a great demonstration of Nancy's style, maybe brought out with christina's lyrics. Kind of funny how a musician kind of goes to a different place with lyrics not their own; They get to focus more on music and performance then, I think; kind of like the Elton John/Bernie Taupin effect. Either way, it worked very well for you ladies. You should collaborate again.

A SCENTED LOVE LETTER

A very confident performance and very pleasent to listen to. Although the lyrics are long and circles around a few issues, I find them good, calm and not boring. They work fine together with the melody, the mood and the performance.
Nancy, as far as I remember someone called your performance (in "If I needed someone"?) "dreaming and hypnotic". I find that very precise.
Just be careful, that you don't improvise too much in all your songs as I fear they may all be too much alike. I think this one is OK.
But this song is quite long, and it needs some more. If you added an extra guitar and a harmony vocal in the chorus the song would appear more structured and more interesting to listen to.
A great song!

I am listening to your songs now for a couple of month, and I can notice that your recording quality has become so much better and clearer. It is really possible to get an imagination of you performing and singing live! I could listen to your bewitching singing for several hours!
Beatiful work on Christina's sweet lyrics! I, too, have no fear to forget that song!

It definitely has a late `60's acid-folk vibe that I'm into. Especially the melody & chord changes at the end of each verse. It kind of reminds me of very early Joni Mitchell or Janice Ian a bit. Musically, it brings to mind the Harry Chapin song "Taxi". I also think maybe it's just a wee bit long perhaps & could maybe be condensed down just a little. The recording was very crisp & balanced. I think this song would do well with other instruments being added as it progresses along. If you wrote this from reading Christina's lyrics first then good job! I've NEVER done lyrics first ever so that's impressive to me. Once again a cool hypnotic vibe.

Stirring vocals (a bit loud in the lo fi mix though) and a beautiful guitar sound. I had difficulty trying to discern a structure (verse, chorus and bridge) but that's OK. The lyrics were simple but very nice. I know some of the other reviewers referenced CSN, Jefferson Airplane and E.J. (and I know you're going to think I'm nuts) but Rush does stuff like this in terms of arrangement whereas the 3 aforementioned while lyrically more similar use more of a standard pop arrangement. . A Rush arrangement may include a single (chorused) acoustic and vocal arranged like a classical piece as part of a longer movement (but lyrically very different).

You are the Queen of simplicity. Grab a guitar and create a song. But one that sticks with the listener. For me your voice is very unique and that's a plus.
